Indigenous Climate Change by Red Tide

June 1, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

About this session:

In May 2018 a vision was born to host the first RedTide: International Indigenous Climate Action Summit and Youth Conference. Partners from around the globe came together to realize the vision of Toitoi Manawa Trust in hosting this summit in their remote village of Te Kaha in Aotearoa. The program was designed to inspire and strengthen Indigenous activism, action, innovation and build solidarity in addressing the effects of climate change. So what did we learn from the experience, and what is most needed by Indigenous climate leaders now. How can we most effectively program the next RedTide in Summer 2020 on Vancouver Island.

Presenters: Kahlilah Rampanen and Erynne Gilpin

Date: June 1st
Time: 1:30PM-3:30PM
Location: Harbour Green Park
