Hostility to Hope: Gender Based Violence at Home and Abroad
March 7 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
On March 7th, the World Vision Ottawa Youth Council will be hosting an interactive art exhibit called Hostility to Hope: Stories of Gender Based Violence at Home and Abroad.
The story we wish to walk you through begins in a place of darkness and ends in a place of light. It starts with the struggles and hardships that women all over the world face such as genital mutilation, domestic violence, sexual assault, and child marriages. As you continue to move from one piece to another, the tone and mood will change. You will observe women surviving, becoming empowered, and in turn helping their own community and other women. In addition to showcasing powerful pieces of art from artists such as Paul Bettings and Ella Baron, this event will also include short videos and speeches from people who have seen the effect of gender-based violence in developing countries.
Every piece of artwork has a story and we hope that you can join us on March 7th to experience this immersive art exhibit with us.
Everyone is welcome and it is a free event.
Special thank you to World Vision Canada for all of their support.
